Cutting edges

The task

Clean edges with minimum material waste

Edges of material webs must be cut cleanly. With conventional cutting methods, interfering heat often develops from the friction between blade and product. This effect is particularly negative with thermoplastic plastic fibres. These fibres melt on the cutting edge requiring frequent sharpening. Otherwise, the blades would become dull and the edge uneven.

An optimal cutting method is marked by an exact cut, minimum material losses, low heat development and long service life of the blades.

The solution

Clean cut, long service life of the blades

Minimise edge waste with the WEKO-Cut-it. It cuts with slowly rotating cutting disks and minimises the thermal energy caused by friction. In addition, the WEKO-Cut-it has a much longer service life than conventional rotating blades because of the cutting disk system. Material losses are minimised because the cut is made at a distance of 10 to max. 15 mm between cutting disks and the material edge. The WEKO-Cut-it can be integrated into your systems flexibly and without problem ensuring maximum productivity and profitability.

The solution

Textile need WEKO-Cut-it

The principle of function of the WEKO-Cut-it is very efficient: The material web is guided into the cutting unit, consisting of powered cutting disks. After the cut, the product web is transported via a support plate to the cylinder at the outfeed. An extraction system removes the edge trimming positively and reliably.

Your benefits

  • To be operated with alternating current
  • Width of cut adjustment with step motor
  • Suitable for stenters with needle bars
  • Positive check of the edge waste without operator intervention
  • Minimum trimming waste
  • Cut edge waste is removed reliably
  • Cutting disks with maximum service life at consistent sharpness
