Innovatec invests in non-contact fluid application system
Innovatec, the world's leading producer and quality leader of meltblown nonwovens, is investing in a WEKO fluidapplication system for the functionalization of meltblown nonwovens. After several series of tests in the WEKO-TechnologyCenter as well as further tests in the running production conditions with a loaner, the system was convincing.
“The WEKO fluid application system is an economical as well as ecological system, which push Innovatec in the position to produce high quality products. By using this system, the amount of additives and their emissions are greatly reduced, ”said Mr. Jaeger in response to the question “Why WEKO?”.
Innovatec Microfibre Technology GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1995, is one of the most modern and largest manufacturers in meltblown production, with around 110 employees. In addition to a large machine park for the production of meltblown nonwovens, Innovatec also has the most modern spunbond systems at its disposal, which optimally complement the product portfolio.
The consistently high quality of the products can be guaranteed through constant quality control in the in-house laboratory.
Thanks to continuous innovation and investment in the latest technologies, Innovatec maintains its role as the world's leading producer of meltblown nonwovens.
"We are pleased to be able to win a renowned and future-oriented customer in the field of nonwovens production with Innovatec and we look forward to a good cooperation", says Christian Heinle, Key Account Manager at WEKO.
WEKO has taken over RotaSpray GmbH

Weko Holding GmbH has taken over RotaSpray GmbH from Oehringen with retroactive effect from January 1st, 2021 and
further expands its textile segment.
With the merger of the two companies, the competencies in the field of functional wet finishing, digital printing pre-treatment and spray dyeing processes will be bundled for the textile segment. Both companies believe that these segments offer good future opportunities. Because the demand for a resource-saving, CO2-reduced dyeing and finishing process for textile yarns and fabrics is increasing rapidly. Likewise the market trend of ever smaller production lot sizes per order. "We can now meet these requirements even more efficiently through the company merger," emphasizes Rainer Tuexen, former shareholder of RotaSpray GmbH.
Tobias Schurr, the new managing director of RotaSpray GmbH, underlines: “With the resulting synergies in product development, process know-how and production, we will be able to provide our customers with even more attractive solutions in the future. For us, the actual saving of chemicals, water, waste water and drying energy is important in order to make the processes not only more cost-efficient, but also more environmentally friendly."
With its large network, WEKO Holding also brings in a globally well-structured service organization that will also look after RotaSpray products in the future.
RotaSpray GmbH will continue to be managed as an independent unit within the WEKO Holding Group and will focus purely on the high-quality textile sector.
WEKO has been developing and producing non-contact application systems for product optimization and surface finishing with different types of liquids and powdery substances since 1953. The areas of application are broad and the nonwovens, paper, tissue, printing, wood fiber boards, foils and metal industries are successfully supported with WEKO solutions. You can find out more at www.weko.net.
WEKO and RotaSpray are looking forward to a successful cooperation and will continue to be there for you as usual with innovative solutions - WEKO Innovation at work.
KROENERT renews the Technology Center

The KROENERT Technology Center has been brought up to date with the latest remoistening technology by a WEKO-SIGMA rotor carrier.
KROENERT provides in its Technology Center in Hamburg a unique service. Its features and equipment make it to one of the largest test facilities for the coating of web-shaped materials: a great variety of processes for coating and lamination from roll to roll are available.
Customers have the opportunity to test coating and drying processes for different products and with different materials and to optimize all processes and parameters before investing in a new production line. Thanks to continuous internal research and development as well as cooperation with universities, institutes and key suppliers the Technology Center is always at the cutting edge of technology. Recently the remoistening of WEKO was renewed and replaced by a WEKO-SIGMA rotor carrier to offer customers the best possible results. Paper fibers that have shrunk due to drying, lead to wavy and curled papers with an unsightly look. Targeted remoistening relaxes the paper fibers. This ensures flatness, avoids static charges, ensures high product quality, and maximizes the processing speed.
Paper is a “living” product that cannot be standardized and whose behavior can never be fully predicted in the different processing processes. After all, paper essentially consists of cellulose. When moisture is absorbed, these fibers expand by up to 25 percent in width and only insignificantly in the longitudinal direction. In the same way they contract when moisture is lost, for example due to the effects of heat. Depending on the composition and manufacture, each paper has a defined moisture level before processing, which is based on the ambient climate. However, depending on the climatic conditions in the process, this is sometimes subject to severe fluctuations. An highly effective measure to return paper to its original properties at the end of the processing process after a fixing or drying procedure is paper conditioning by remoistening. In the future, KROENERT customers will be able to fall back on the optimized technology from WEKO and benefit with better results.

WEKO expands Customer Support

The manufacturer from Southern Germany of non-contact fluid and powder coating systems, Weitmann & Konrad GmbH & Co. KG, in brief WEKO, further expands its customer support with another Area Sales Manager.
As complexity and customization for machinery is growing WEKO would like to be in an early stage on customers side to create optimized solution for functional finishing of diverse material surfaces.
Therefore Mr. Christian Heinle took over responsibility as Area Sales Manager for Japan, China, South Korea and Taiwan in July 2019.
He successfully completed his training as industrial clerk at WEKO in 2017 and was gladly accepted with best grades. After a few years in the sales department, he decided to do an advanced training as a Bachelor Professional of Management for Industry (CCI), which he managed to do well. This training and as the experience in sales of WEKO qualifies him as Area Sales Manager.
We are pleased that Christian Heinle has discovered and used the career opportunities of WEKO with the focus to help our customers to find efficient and sustainable process solutions.
