Finishing with liquids

The task

Individual properties for composites

Composites are used as material for the automotive industry, aeronautics, shipbuilding, medicine, etc. In the form of fabrics and prepregs, they shall meet individual demands such as shaping capability, weight savings, accuracy and optimal cutting or stamping properties.  The objective is to ensure and support this, amongst others, through the precise and reliable application of liquids.

Finishing with liquids

The application of special liquids such as plasticisers, avivages, flame protection agents, hydrophilic/hydrophobic or oleophilic/oleophobic finishers, sewing improvers and stitching aids or conductivity improvers provide composites with the desired properties.

The solution

WEKO-Fluid-Application-System (WFA) such as WEKO-FLOW with WEKO-SIGMA rotor carriers apply liquid with ultra-fine metering to one or both sides to the individual or multiply layers. Time required to remove excess substances, to clean or dry systems, can thus be minimised. This makes your work process very productive and flexible while saving valuable resources. The WFA can be quickly adapted to different applications and product formats.

The realisation

WEKO-Fluid-Application-System (WFA) for the finishing of composites are comprised of the Liquid Supply Unit and System Controller WEKO-FLOW and the Rotor Carrier WEKO-SIGMA.
